AVERY SEAMAN OF THE UNIVERSITY OF DALLAS, a sophomore forward from Bedford, Texas, has been named the SCAC Women’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Week for games played through Sunday, October 3rd. SCAC Women's Soccer Release (Week 5)
Seaman led Dallas to an SCAC opening victory last weekend at home over Austin College, 2-0. She scored both goals and helped secure three important points in the table to start the conference portion of the schedule for Dallas. Tied late in the second half, Seaman rang home both goals in the final twenty minutes to clinch the victory, scoring the first goal in the 71st minute and then put the game away in the 88th minute with her second tally. It marked the first multigoal game of her career and her second and third goals of the season .
Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Freshman forward Matiana Cancino of Schreiner scored her first collegiate goal in the final five minutes of the Mountaineers opening SCAC fixture against St. Thomas to help secure a point in a 1-1 overtime draw. Senior forward Kaity Ward of Trinity totaled nine points on the weekend to open up SCAC play. On Friday, Ward had a hat trick and also added two assists. Ward also dished out an assist on Sunday in Trinity's 3-0 win over St. Thomas.
