KRISTEN CANEPA OF TRINITY UNIVERSITY, a senior defender from Westlake Village, Calif., has been named the SCAC Women’s Soccer Defensive Player of the Week for games played through Sunday, September 8th.

Canepa led the 17th-ranked Tigers to a road win over No. 10 Hardin-Simmons on Saturday evening, marking the first Trinity win in the series since 2011. Canepa and the Tiger defense allowed just eight total shots and only three shots on goal. In addition to holding HSU scoreless until a PK in the final minutes, Canepa also chipped in with two goals on just two shots - including the eventual game-winner early in the second half. It also marked Canepa’s first career multi-goal game.
