KRISTEN CANEPA OF TRINITY UNIVERSITY, a junior defender from Westlake Village, Calif., has been selected the SCAC Women’s Soccer Defensive Player-of-the-Week for matches played the week of Monday, September 24th to Sunday, September 30th.
Canepa led Trinity to road shutout victories against Schreiner, Austin College, and Dallas last week. Canepa and the Tiger defense extended the team’s shutout streak to seven consecutive games, allowing just 10 total shots over the three games and just two of those were on-target attempts.
Canepa also got on the board with her free-kick goal in the win at Dallas on Sunday, putting Trinity up 2-0 at the time. Canepa leads a Trinity defense that has allowed just two goals in 10 games this season, posting nine total shutouts.
