LILAH BEVINS OF TRINITY UNIVERSITY, a sophomore defender from Austin, Texas has been selected the SCAC Women’s Soccer Defensive Player-of-the-Week for matches played the week of Monday, September 10th to Sunday, September 16th.
Bevins led Trinity’s women’s soccer team to three shutout victories to open up SCAC play last week, picking up wins over Texas Lutheran, Austin College, and previously unbeaten Centenary.
Bevins and the Tiger defense gave up just six total shots in the three games, including just two shots in Sunday’s SCAC showdown with Centenary. This season, Bevins has started all six games and she has led a Trinity defense that has recorded five shutouts and given up just two goals.
Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Junior goalkeeper Mary Cardone of Southwestern led the Pirates to a pair of shutout victories last week, including their SCAC opener against Johnson & Wales, 1-0. In two games, Cardone combined to make six total saves.
