Trinity Women’s Soccer Coaches Named Regional Staff of the Year

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - The United Soccer Coaches organization announced the Regions' Coaching Staffs of the Year across all Collegiate divisions. The Trinity Women's Soccer coaching staff composed of Head Coach Dylan Harrision, Assistant Coach Spencer Valdespino, Assistant Coach Jerimiah Narvaez and Assistant Coach Sarah Jerome took the No. 24th ranked Tigers to the Round of 16. The TU coaching staff was named the Division III X Region Staff of the Year. Harrison and Valdespino were named Division III Region X Staff of the year in 2019 as well.

The Trinity Coaching Staff led by Coach Harrison finished with a record of (15-3-2, 6-1-0 SCAC). The Tigers also hosted a regional for the first time since 2015. The Tigers only lost one conference match and soon got revenge in the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Championship by defeating Southwestern University 5-0. Trinity also posted a home record of 12-0-1 on the year. TU totaled 11 shutouts on the season and outscored opponents 66-16 through 20 matches. 

Trinity defeated Hardin-Simmons 1-0 in round one of the NCAA Tournament then tied Pomona-Pitzer College 1-1 before winning 4-3 in penalty kicks to advance to the Round of 16. The Tigers season ended on a late goal in the round of 16 in Cleveland, Ohio that was scored in the 85th minute of the match. 

The State of Texas saw four coaching staffs' garner this award. The Women's Coaching Staff of Texas Christian University represented the Midwest Region while the Coaching Staff of Southern Methodist University represented the South Region in Division I. The Dallas Baptist University Staff represented the South Central Region in Division II.
