LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. - 
Seven of nine Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Women’s Soccer teams were in action last week as designated non-conference contests highlighted the schedule.

Southwestern (7-1) extended its winning streak to seven last week earning wins against Hutson-Tillotson, 3-0, on Tuesday and Johnson & Wales, 2-1, on Friday before suffering its first loss of the season to McMurry on Sunday. Senior Alexis Barrientez was credited with the game winner against the Rams and freshman Juliet Pridgen got the winner versus the Wildcats.  

Trinity (5-2) split a pair of contests last week, opening with an impressive 6-0 victory over Texas Lutheran on Friday before falling to Christopher Newport, 2-0, on Sunday. Freshman Molly Sheridan was outstanding in the win over the Bulldogs, notching the game-winner, the first goal of her career and adding two assists for four total points.

Texas Lutheran (4-2-1) bounced back from its loss to Trinity by knocking off Johnson & Wales (2-6), 4-0, on Sunday. Sophomore Madison Alexander led the way on Sunday, scoring twice and adding an assist for five total points on the day. Madison Stout grabbed three saves as TLU posted its second shutout of the season.

Dallas (3-2-1) is now unbeaten in four-straight fixtures after knocking off Schreiner, 1-0, in overtime on Friday and defeating Concordia (Tex.), 2-1, on Sunday. Freshman Alyssa Mencacci has now scored a goal in four-straight games and was involved in all three goals for the Crusaders last week, scoring the game-winner against the Mountaineers in overtime and registering a goal and an assist on Sunday against the Tornados.

Schreiner (4-3-2) has gone to overtime in three consecutive matches, bouncing back from its loss to the Crusaders to defeat Austin College (2-4-1), 3-2, in overtime on Sunday. Sophomore Alyssa Davila scored twice, including the game-winner to lead the Mountaineers to victory.

SCAC Women’s Soccer continues this week with the final designated non-conference fixtures among conference foes scheduled for Friday and Sunday before conference play officially begins on Friday, October 4th.
