HOW IT HAPPENED

  • After a scoreless first half, Trinity got on the board in the 56th minute with a goal from Molly Sheridan, her fifth of the season. It was also her third game-winner.
  • Nyad Shepherd put the game on ice for the Tigers with a goal in the 65th minute. It was her third of the season.
  • The match was played on Trinitiy's side of the field for much of the contest as the Tigers held a 28-1 advantage in shots and a 8-0 advantage in corners.
  • Olivia Severson did her best to keep her team in the match, posting a season-high 15 saves in goal for the Crusaders.

NOTABLES

  • The meeting was the third between the two in SCAC tournament play with Trinity improving to 3-0 in those matches. Trinity defeated Dallas 7-0 in the 2013 semifinals and 1-0 in the 2012 final.
  • This is the ninth straight year Trinity has reached the tournament final after the event was reinstated prior to the 2011 season. Trinity had been to the last two finals prior to that - in 1991 and 1992 - before the postseason was discontinued.
  • Trinity has not allowed a goal in SCAC tournament play since the 2016 final, when the Tigers defeated Southwestern, 2-1.
