SAN ANTONIO, Texas - A shootout was the deciding factor in the second SCAC quarterfinal game between Dallas and Texas Lutheran where the Crusaders lived to advance to the semifinal match. Dallas' win over TLU marks the first time in SCAC women's soccer tournament history that both lower seeds upset their opponents in quarterfinal matches with Schreiner upsetting fourth-ranked Centenary earlier in the day.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Texas Lutheran outshot Dallas 29-15.
- The Bulldogs also held an 11-4 advantage in corner kicks.
- Dallas was the only team to hold a lead during the match.
- Bailey Nimtz of TLU put away two equalizing goals to keep the Bulldogs in contention.
- The Crusaders prevailed 4-2 on penalty kicks.
