
KANSAS CITY, Mo. - The National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) announced the 2014-15 recipients of the College Team Academic Award Wednesday and five Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference women’s soccer teams were recognized.
A total of 859 soccer teams (305 men, 554 women) posted a team grade point average of 3.0 or higher, earning them the honor.
Leading the way was Trinity University, holding a 3.55 team grade point average and receiving recognition for the ninth consecutive year and the 15th year overall. Texas Lutheran was close behind, earning the team award for the second year in a row with a team GPA of 3.49.
Schreiner University posted a team GPA of 3.24 to earn their third recognition. The University of Dallas posted their second award-winning year in a row with a 3.20, while Southwestern notched their 15th honor and sixth in a row with a 3.17.
Founded in 1941 and based in Kansas City, Mo., the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) is a non-profit organization with a mission to educate coaches, encourage excellence and serve the soccer community.
