LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. – Highlighted by
tournament MVPs Kelsey Falcone and Shelby Hopkins of Trinity
University, the conference office today announced the 2014 Southern
Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) Women's Soccer All-Tournament
team.
Trinity earned a 3-0 win over Texas Lutheran
University to win the 2014 SCAC women's soccer championship
Sunday afternoon on the campus of Trinity.
Falcone, who was also the Offensive MVP of the 2013 tournament,
scored the eventual game-winner in the seventh minute of Sunday's
title-clinching victory. She also netted two goals - including the
game-winner - in Saturday's 7-0 win over Austin College. Hopkins
supplied the assist for Falcone's game-winner on Sunday, and led a
stingy defense that didn't allow a shot in two SCAC tournament
games.
Trinity had eight players earn all-Tournament recognition,
followed by Texas Lutheran and Austin College with three
selections. University of Dallas and Southwestern University
each had one player recognized on the all-tournament team.
