
KANSAS CITY, Kan. – Trinity (Texas)
University (21-0-1, 12-0) women’s soccer team stays at the
No. 2 rank in this week’s National Soccer Coaches
Association (NSCAA)/Continental Tire Division III Top 25
women’s poll. Trinity kept the No. 4 position in the
D3soccer.com Top 25 women’s poll for week eleven and has
retained the No. 1 position for the West Regional NSCAA poll for
the entire 2013 regular season play.
Trinity secured its fifth straight SCAC Championship over the
weekend, defeating Dallas 7-0 in the SCAC Tournament Semifinals to
open play, then blanking Southwestern 5-0 in the Championship game
on Sunday.
The Tigers have captured 18 conference titles since the 1992 season, and have won eight in the past 10 seasons under Head Coach Lance Key.
Trinity received the automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament with
the victory, and will travel to Bloomington, Illinois, for the
first and second rounds of play. The Tigers face Augustana at
5:00 p.m. on Saturday evening at Illinois Wesleyan University, with
the winner playing at 5:00 p.m. on Sunday.
