KANSAS CITY, Kan. - Senior forward Erin Menard of
Centre College and junior goalkeeper Becca Clarin of Rhodes College
were selected to the 2008 NSCAA/adidas All-America Team for NCAA
Division III women's soccer.
Menard, a senior from LaGrange, Ky., was named
to the All-American Second Team. Previously, Menard was named to
the All-Great Lakes Region First-team and was also an All-SCAC
First Team selection.
In 2008, Menard led the Colonels in goals scored with 10 and also
had one assist. With her 10 goals this season, Menard moved to
fifth all-time in career goals scored in the SCAC with 59.
She is the first women's soccer player at Centre College to earn the All-American title. Along with earning the college's first ever All-American award in women's soccer, Menard also helped the Colonels earn an at-berth and make the program's first-ever NCAA Div III Tournament appearance.
Rhodes' Clarin was named to the 2008 National Soccer
Coaches Association of America/adidas All-America Third Team,
becoming the program's first-ever women's soccer
All-American. Clarin, a junior from Clarendon Hills,
IL, was singled out as one of only three goalkeepers to
earn All-America honors.
The award comes on the heels of the Lynx historic SCAC Championship
and Rhodes' first-ever appearance in the NCAA DIII Championship
Tournament. Clarin earned a spot on the All-SCAC First Team
and helped the Lynx to 12 shutouts in 2008.
