
DEANNA HAMES OF SOUTHWESTERN UNIVERSITY, a junior midfielder from Murrietta, Calif., has been named the SCAC Women’s Lacrosse Offensive Player-of-the-Week for games played from Monday, March 28 through Sunday, April 3. (Women's Lacrosse Weekly Release - Week 7)
Hames led Southwestern to a pair of victories last weekend, extending the Pirates win streak to a season-high six after defeating both Hanover and Franklin on the road. She opened the road trip with four goals and one assist for a total of five points and then closed out the weekend with a season-high six assists to go along with one goal to tie her season-high water mark of seven points in a single game. For the week, the SCAC’s leader in goals (40) finished with five goals and seven assists for a league-high 12 points last week
Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Sophomore midfielder Devon Ortman of Colorado College continued to make an impact at both ends of the field to the Tigers. In a pair of tough losses against top competition in the West Region, Ortman rang up four goals, dished out three assists and collected an impressive 21 draw controls.
