
EMMA PERTUIT OF SOUTHWESTERN UNIVERSITY, a sophomore midfielder from Seabrook, Texas, has been named the SCAC Women’s Lacrosse Defensive Player-of-the-Week for games played from Monday, April 19 through Sunday, April 25.
Pertuit scored one goal with a game-high 10 draw controls and six ground balls in the game against Hendrix. She added three ground balls and seven ground controls against Dallas.
Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Freshman Gabby Dixon of Dallas led the Crusaders this week with 12 ground balls and six caused turnovers. She picked up seven ground balls in the team's four-point setback to Hendrix College. That same match she garnered five draw controls. Each match Dixon forced three turnovers on the opponents and was a steady option at midfield for transitioning the ball.
