ELLIE MEYER OF COLORADO COLLEGE, a senior midfielder from Park City, Utah, has been named the SCAC Women’s Lacrosse Defensive Player-of-the-Week for games played from Monday, February 25th through Sunday, March 3rd.
Meyer contributed in all facets of the game as Colorado College opened the season with an 18-13 victory over cross-town rival CU-Colorado Springs on Wednesday, Feb. 27. Meyer tied for the team lead with two caused turnovers and tied for second with three ground balls. She also scored a pair of goals on three shots and led the Tigers with five draw controls.
Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Senior midfielder Mason Cosgrove of Dallas won 11 draw controls, collected six ground balls and caused two turnovers to help the Crusaders split a pair of games last week to improve to 2-4 overall. Freshman goalkeeper Brigid McCollam of Johnson & Wales was credited with a career-high 17 saves to help guide the Wildcats to their first win in program history last week against Whitman.
