MAGGIE O'DONNELL OF COLORADO COLLEGE, a freshman attack from Cohasset, Mass., has been named the SCAC Women’s Lacrosse Offensive Player-of-the-Week for games played from Monday, April 8th through Sunday, April 14th.
O’Donnell produced a combined eight goals, four assists and 12 points last week as No. 21 Colorado College earned three victories to help extend the Tigers’ win streak to 14, a new school record. The freshman scored four points in each win, scoring two goals and adding two assists in a 20-2 win over Johnson & Wales last Tuesday, registering four goals in a victory against Augsburg (21-3) and then burying two more goals with two more assists in a battle of then unbeatens in a win against Hamline (12-8). On her second goal against Augsburg, O’Donnell became the first freshman to reach 50 points in a season since Kate Fitzgerald posted 52 points in 2004.
Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Junior midfielder Grace Maynard of Southwestern scored a season-high six goals in a loss to Oklahoma-Baptist last week. Maynard has now scored in three-straight contests after being held to just one goal in her previous three prior to her current goal streak.
