ELLIE MEYER OF COLORADO COLLEGE, a junior midfielder from Park City, Utah, has been named the SCAC Women’s Lacrosse Defensive Player-of-the-Week for games played from Monday, April 8th through Sunday, April 14th.
Meyer was a force in all phases of the game last week as No. 21 Colorado College recorded three victories in six days to extend the Tiger’s winning streak to 14, setting a new program record for consecutive wins. Her efforts helped the Tigers improve to 14-0 with victories over Johnson & Wales, Augsburg and previously unbeaten Hamline. In the defensive zone, Meyer caused four turnovers and picked up six ground balls, including tying a season-high four ground balls in the win against Hamline. She also grabbed four draw controls and scored once in the midfield. The Tigers have held their last five opponents to fewer than 10 goals, including two games this week where the opponent failed to reach five.
