SCAC Women's Lacrosse Recap - Week Three

LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. -- Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Women's Lacrosse continued last week with three of the league's four teams in action, highlighted by Johnson & Wales opening its 2019 campaign. 

The Wildcats (0-1) dropped their opening game of the season, 16-5, against Willamette last Sunday. Madisyn Tulenchik paced JWU offensively in the loss with two goals on three shots, while Brigid McCollam was credited with 11 saves in the cage for the Wildcats. 
 
Southwestern (1-2) jumped out to a quick 4-0 lead over Hendrix but was unable to hold the lead as the Pirates fell in a tight contest, 20-18, last Saturday. Hayley Donnelly continued her hot start to the season leading the Pirates with two goals and five assists for seven total points. The senior attack also collected one ground ball and caused one turnover. 
 
Dallas dropped a pair of contests last week, falling to High Point (19-9) and Oglethorpe (20-12) in a non-conference road swing. The Crusaders were led offensively by Erika Keever after she registered six goals and was credited with one assist for seven total points in the two contests. Defensively Alex Parkey collected 28 draw controls on the week, including a program record 22 in the loss to Oglethorpe. 
 
SCAC women's lacrosse continues this week, highlighted by Colorado College when the Tigers open their season on Wednesday against UC-Colo. Springs.
