LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. -- After taking a week off from action, the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference women’s lacrosse season resumed last week highlighted by Colorado College (14-0) posting a perfect 3-0 record and in the process setting a school-record for consecutive wins.

CC opened the week defeating Johnson & Wales (2-10), 20-2, at home on Tuesday. Eva King led the Tigers with five points on five assists in the win, while Sophie Murphy, Maggie O’Donnell, Allie Thuet and Lauren Pejza each found the back of the net twice as CC hit the 20-goal plateau for the third time all season. Madisyn Tulenchick scored both goals for JWU as the Wildcats ended the game with six total shots.

Over the weekend Colorado College traveled out to Minnesota and earned a pair of wins over Augsburg (21-3) on Saturday and knocked off then undefeated Hamline (12-8) to set a new school record for consecutive wins at 14. Against Augsburg, Thuet and O’Donnell struck for four goals apiece to lead the way offensively. On Thuet’s third goal of the night she became the 27th player in program history to record 100 or more career points, while O’Donnell’s second strike saw her become the first freshman to 50 points in a season since Kate Fitzgerald registered 52 in 2004. In the battle of two unbeatens, Colorado College’s King factored in on five goals, scoring four for the fifth time this season and setting up another, while Alena Stern recorded 11 saves in the cage to keep the Tiger’s undefeated season alive.

Johnson & Wales closed out the week with a pair of tough losses, first falling to University of Saint Mary, 15-8, on Friday before being shutout by Rockhurst on Saturday. Ashley Guerrero scored four goals in the loss to USM and Tulenchick added one to bring her weekly total to three.

Southwestern (6-5) led Oklahoma Baptist, 11-9, in the second half, but five unanswered goals and eight of the next nine from the Lady Bison saw the Pirates fall in a tough contest, 18-16. Grace Maynard led Southwestern with six goals in the loss.

SCAC women’s lacrosse action continues this week beginning on Tuesday when Johnson & Wales hosts Loras on Tuesday.
