ALEJANDRA SANCHEZ DE LA FUENTE MOLINO OF TRINITY UNIVERSITY, a senior from Marbella, Spain, has been selected the SCAC Women’s Golfer-of-the-Week for competition played from Wednesday, March 5 through Tuesday, March 11. SCAC Golf Release (Spring - Week 4)
Molino led 17th-ranked Trinity with a second-round score of 72, carding three total birdies on the day and shooting an even-par 36 on the final nine holes at this past weekend's Westbrook Invitational, hosted by tournament winner George Fox (Ore.) University. Molina, who finished tied for 19th, was one of three players to finish with a two-day total of 148, improving on Saturday's score of 76 with Sunday's one-over score that was the best of the weekend for any Tiger player.
Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Senior Kimberly Burch of Dallas fired rounds of 80 and 81 to post a 161 (+17) at the CLU Regals Invitational. Burch posted a top 10 finish (tied for ninth) as the Crusaders finished just one shot behind Lewis & Clark in the team standings for fifth place. Sophomore Paige Zehner of Concordia (Texas) represented the Tornados at the Shenandoah Spring Fling and finished with a two-round score of 199 (94-105), which was good for 15th place.
