JESSICA MASON OF TRINITY UNIVERSITY, a junior from Westminster, Colo., has been selected the SCAC Women’s Golfer-of-the-Week for competition played from Sunday, October 6 through Tuesday, October 8. SCAC Golf Release (Week 4)
Mason shot rounds of 73 and 74 for a two-day total of 147 to lead 16th-ranked Trinity to the team title at the Alamo City Classic, which was played on its home course The Quarry in San Antonio. Mason finished five-over at the par-71 course, leading the field in both birdies (four) and pars (25). She shot even par on the course's par 4s, which was six strokes better than the closest competitor.
Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
First-year Cameron Frazier of St. Thomas finished fifth at the Alamo City Classic, leading the Celts with scores of 77 and 80 (157, +15) and helping her team to a fourth-place finish. Senior Kimberly Burch of Dallas posted a top 10 finish at the Alamo City Classic, coming in seventh with a two-day total of 159 (79-80) to pace the Crusaders. First-year Belle Asbury of Texas Lutheran paced the Bulldogs on day two at the Alamo City Classic with a 78 (+7) in the final round and finished in a tie for 12th place (+18), climbing the leaderboard eight places on Tuesday.
