RYLEIGH ERICKSON OF SOUTHWESTERN UNIVERSITY, a senior from McAllen, Texas, has been selected the SCAC Women’s Golfer-of-the-Week for competition played through Tuesday, March 26. SCAC Golf Release (Spring - Week 6)
Erickson concluded the Jekyll Island Intercollegiate in solo sixth place, firing scores of 77 or better in each of her three rounds (76, 76, 77) for a final tally of 229. Erickson was eighth in the elite 102-person field in scoring on par fours, averaging 4.23 shots over the course of three rounds.
Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Junior Emma Luna of St. Thomas finished in fifth place with a two-round score of 159 (+15) at the Linda Lowery Invitational. Luna set the pace with a stellar 75 (+3) in the opening round which included 11 pars and two birdies. First-year Leanna Galindo of Schreiner paced the Mountaineers with rounds of 84 and 91 to finish at 175 (+31) and tied for 15th at the Linda Lowery Invitational.
