LAUREN LESLIE OF SCHREINER UNIVERSITY a sophomore golfer from Houston, Texas, was named the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference women's Golfer of the Week for competitions through September 14.
Leslie earned the top spot in the Lady Bulldog Fall Classic in a field of 75 student-athletes, posting a two-round score of 150 to lead the Mountaineers to a third place finish.
Leslie posted a first round 74, which was her best collegiate round to date in route to her first tournament title.
The Mountaineers will compete next at the Golfweek Fall Invitational from October 9-11 in Destin, Florida.
Other outstanding performances in the SCAC
Freshman Summer Swift of Texas Lutheran University finished in a tie for 20th place at the TLU Lady Bulldog Classic, carding rounds of 79 and 81 in her first collegiate competition. Junior Shelby DeVore of Trinity University shot a final-round 1-over 73 to finish in a three-way tie for second place in the TLU Lady Bulldog Classic.
