SCAC Women's Golf Recap - Spring Week One

LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. - Three of the league's five women's golf teams kicked off the spring season at the Linda Lowry Invitational.

The Southwestern University women's golf team opened the spring season just how they finished in the fall, with a tournament win. The Pirates posted a two-round score of 657 to record a third tournament win for the 2017-18 season. SU was led by Leilani McDaniel in third place with a score of 158 (79, 79). Emily Campbell was close behind with a mark of 160 for fifth place.

Centenary College took fourth in the event, led by Jessica Varner who took the individual title. Varner earned her fifth collegiate tournament win with a score of 154 (77, 77). Her single round scores were the best at the tournament on either day. As a team, the Ladies recorded a score of 679.

Schreiner University finished in fifth place, right behind the Ladies. The Mountaineers shot a 693 (347, 346), led by Alyssa Holbrook. Holbrook finished in 16th place with a 171. The remaining three SU golfers finished within four shots of Holbrook's mark.
