Rain, Lightning Dominate First Day of SCAC Men's and Women's Golf Championships

BLANCO, Texas -- Weather wreaked havoc on Monday's opening rounds of the SCAC Men's and Women's Golf Championships as neither gender was able to complete 18 holes before play was suspended for the day at Vaaler Creek Golf Club. Official Championship Website | Men's Live Results | Women's Live Results | Photo Gallery | Day One Video Highlights

The remainder of Monday's opening round will be completed when play resumes at 8 a.m. Tuesday morning. Once the first round is complete, pairings will be determined and both genders will attempt to complete a second 18 holes, weather permitting.

The men's event, which had originally been scheduled as a 54-hole event, will now become a 36-hole event while the women remain on pace to play 36 holes.

Although teams were at different levels of completion, the Southwestern University men and the Trinity University women were sitting atop the leaderboard when Monday's first-round play was suspended.
