
DESTIN, Fla. - The Women's Golf Coaches Association announced the 2012-13 student-athlete and coaches awards for Division III Women's Collegiate Golf and Southwestern University senior Kelsey Coburn was selected to the All-West Region Team. Winners were recognized at the WGCA Division III Awards Banquet held in Destin, Florida in association with the NCAA Championships.
Coburn finished her collegiate career with a bang, tying for seventh place at the Division III NCAA Championships this past week. The Southwestern women's team also finished in seventh at the event.
Coburn posted the lowest round for the Pirates on the first two days with a 76-78 and finished strong with a 76 after shooting an 82 on day three. Her 312 strokes put her in a tie for seventh and 16 strokes behind the winner, Laura Lindsey of UT Tyler.
This was Southwestern's seventh trip to the NCAA Championships. They posted their highest finish in 2008, bringing home third place honors.

About the Women's Golf Coaches Association
The Women's Golf Coaches Association, founded in 1983, is a non-profit organization representing women's collegiate golf coaches. The WGCA was formed to encourage the playing of college golf for women in correlation with a general objective of education and in accordance with the highest tradition of intercollegiate competition. Today, the WGCA represents over 500 coaches throughout the U.S. and is dedicated to educating, promoting and recognizing both its members and the student-athletes they represent.
