DePauw, Centre and Southwestern earn NCAA bids; Rhodes' Mingos qualifies as Individual

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - DePauw University, Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference champions, earned the conference's automatic bid to the 2010 Division III Women's Golf Championship. Centre College and Southwestern University which finished second and third at the conference championship, earned at-large bids in the tournament. Rhodes' Stephanie Mingos also qualified for the NCAA tournament as an individual.

Fifth-ranked DePauw shot a three-round 1014 and won the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Women's Golf Championships by five strokes over 15th-ranked Centre to earn the conference AQ bid.

The conference title was DePauw's sixth in 12 years of SCAC competition and first since 2006. DePauw is in the NCAA tournament for the ninth consecutive year.

Centre received an at-large bid after they took second place in the SCAC Championships, which were held at Stone Mountain Golf Course in Atlanta, Ga. on Friday, April 23 through Sunday, April 25.

Southwestern received a spot in the tournament despite coming in third place in the SCAC Championships a week ago. The Pirates earned the automatic bid in 2007, 2008 and 2009, finishing in third place nationally in 2008 and fourth place in 2007 and 2009.

Stephanie Mingos, a junior from Rhodes was selected to play in her 3rd consecutive NCAA Division III Women's Golf Championship as an individual qualifer.
