The seeds for this year's women's tournament are as follows:
1) Trinity (16-0 SCAC; 23-2 overall)
2) Texas Lutheran (13-3 SCAC; 16-8 overall)
3) Colorado College (11-5 SCAC; 14-11 overall)
4) Schreiner (10-6 SCAC; 13-12 overall)
5) Austin College (8-8 overall; 9-15 overall)
6) Southwestern (6-10 overall; 10-14 overall)
For the Trinity University women, this year's tournament represents the seventh consecutive year they have been the #1 seed. And over that span, the Tigers have won the SCAC tournament title four times, including last season when Trinity swept through the eight-team, three-weekend event.
Trinity finished the regular season with a perfect 16-0 mark, becoming just the seventh team in the 31-year history of the league to finish with an unblemished conference record. DePauw University accomplished the feat three times - in 1998-99, 2005-06 and 2007-08 and Trinity now joins DePauw as the only programs with multiple perfect seasons, having gone undefeated the first time during the 2012-13 season. The 1992-93 Centre College women and the 1996-97 Hendrix College women each finished with perfect conference records.
Texas Lutheran (13-3) is the No. 2 seed and, along with Trinity, has a bye into the semifinal round.
The winner of this year's championship tournament will represent the conference in the NCAA Tournament as the league's automatic qualifier.
Women's quarterfinal action gets underway at 5 p.m. CT Friday evening.
