Complete Release

LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. - Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference women’s basketball continued last week, with nine conference games over the weekend, highlighted by Trinity, St. Thomas and Southwestern all posting unblemished records for the week in league play.

Trinity (13-2, 8-0) is perfect through its opening eight league games for the first time since the 2012-13 season after knocking off Johnson & Wales (2-12, 2-7), 103-26, and Colorado College, 90-66, at home last Friday and Saturday night. The Tigers held to Wildcats to 26 points on just nine made field goals, which ties for the lowest score by a Trinity opponent since the 1991-92 season. Against JWU, Trinity posted season best marks for three-point field goals made (15), field goal percentage (55.3) and steals (27). The victory over CC marked the 10th-straight overall for the Texas Tigers dating back to December 21st. The Tigers have now scored at least 80 points in each of the last seven games, which includes four games at 90 or more, and two games in triple digits. Senior Abby Holland continued to lead the way for the Tigers, averaging 22.5 points per game, shooting 73.1% (19-26) from the field, adding 6.5, 3.5 assists, and 2.0 steals per game to her stat line.
