SCAC Women's Basketball Recap - Week 1

LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. - Six of the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference women's basketball squads opened up their 2018-19 campaigns over the weekend.

Austin College squeeked out a 69-62 win against Howard Payne in its home opener. Although the Yellow Jackets were more effecient from behind the three-point line, the Roo's shot 46.3 percent from the field and 70.6 percent from the free throw line. Junior forward Bryce Frank led AC with a double-double performance earning 23 points and 14 rebounds. 

Texas Lutheran opened up its season on the road earning a win against Concordia (Tex.). Senior guard Cami Davis posted 17 points in the game while freshman forward Morgan Rodriguez came off the bench to score 16 to help the Bulldogs secure the 74-63 victory.

The women's basketball schedule continues tonight when Trinity hosts Concordia (Tex.) in its home opener.
