Frank Named to WBCA All-America First Team

ATLANTA, Ga. - The Women’s Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) announced today the 2019 WBCA Coaches’ Division III All-America team and Austin College’s Bryce Frank was named to the First Team.

Selected and voted on by member coaches of the WBCA in NCAA Division III, these student-athletes represent the most outstanding basketball players across America in their division.

Frank, a senior forward for the ‘Roos, added this honor to her extensive list of postseason accolades for 2018-19. Within the league, Frank was named the 2018-19 SCAC Player of the Year – the second consecutive year she has earned that award - and earned First Team All-Conference honors for the third consecutive season. On a regional level, she earned a spot on the D3hoops.com First Team All-South recognition earlier this week.

Frank, a five-time SCAC Player-of-the-Week and three-time D3hoops.com National Team of the Week selection, the senior led the SCAC in both scoring (19.1 points per game) and rebounding (11.2 per game), becoming just the fourth player in league history to lead in both categories in a single season and the first since 2004-05. She finished the season tied for the national lead in double-doubles (22), and broke the SCAC career (55) and single season marks for double-doubles while helping the 'Roos to a 20-6 overall record. Franks finished her career ranked third in SCAC history in rebounds and ninth in scoring. This weekend, she will head to Salem, Virginia to participate in the inaugural Beyond Sports Women's Collegiate All-Star Game.

A 2017-18 WBCA Honorable Mention All-American, Frank becomes the first SCAC student-athlete to be named to the WBCA All-America First Team since Oglethorpe’s Katie Kulavic earn the distinction in 2008-09.
