SHREVEPORT, La. - Schreiner University held off a scrappy Centenary College squad to advance to Saturday's semifnial round of the 2016 SCAC Women's Basketball Tournament. Official Tournament Website
The third-seeded Mountaineers held a slim 39-34 lead at the half, but outscored the sixth-seeded Ladies 22-10 in the crucial third quarter to secure the win.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Schreiner outscored Centenary 22-10 in the third quarter.
- Schreiner outrebounded Centenary 46-33.
- Schreiner's bench outscored Centenary's bench 29-3.
- Turnovers were practically even (18 for Centenary; 17 for Schreiner) but Centenary held a 22-10 points off turnover advantage.
