ATLANTA, Ga. - The Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) announced its winners for the 2008-09 Academic Top 25 Team Honor Roll and Sewanee-The University of the South was ranked 17th among all of Division III programs.

SUWANEE, Ga. - The Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) named a record 1,029 student-athletes to the 2009 SCAC Spring Academic Honor Roll on Wednesday. This year's total eclipsed last year's previous record of 948 student-athletes.

ATLANTA, Ga. - The Oglethorpe University Stormy Petrels defeated the Greensboro College Pride on Pinholster Court in Atlanta in NCAA Division III Women’s Basketball Second Round action on Saturday night, 67-40. The Pride were done in by an Oglethorpe defense that forced 28 turnovers and held them to a dismal 16 of 78 (20.5%) shooting performance.

BLOOMINGTON, Ill. - DePauw was bounced in the first round of the NCAA Tournament tonight 62-50 to Wisconsin-Eau Claire.

ATLANTA, Ga. - The Oglethorpe University Stormy Petrels defeated the Maryville (Tenn.) College Scots on Pinholster Court Friday night in NCAA Division III Women's Basketball Round One action, 68-65. Senior Anna Findley buried a 3-pointer for Oglethorpe with less than a minute remaining to provide the final margin and lift the Petrels to the win.

CONWAY, Ark. - Hendrix College head women’s basketball coach Chris Hitchcock has resigned for personal reasons. Hendrix assistant men’s basketball coach Thad McCracken (pictured) has been named the new head women’s basketball coach. Amber Gean will remain as the women's assistant coach.
