CARSYN LEE OF TRINITY UNIVERSITY, a junior first baseman/outfielder from Flower Mound, Texas, has been named the SCAC Softball Hitter-of-the-Week for games played from Monday, March 3 through Sunday, March 9. SCAC Softball Release - Week 5

Lee led the Tigers to a 5-0 week that included a three-game SCAC weekend sweep of McMurry, extending the team's winning streak to 10 games. Lee had a hit in every game last week, finishing with a .647 batting average (11-for-17) that included four doubles and a triple. She also scored seven runs and finished with nine RBI, slugging 1.000 and posting a .684 on-base percentage after mixing in a pair of walks. Lee had multiple hits in four of the five games, including a 3-for-3 performance that included two runs scored and three RBI to complete the doubleheader sweep of Carnegie Mellon on Wednesday. She opened Sunday's DH with McMurry with a 3-for-4 performance that included two doubles and two RBI. 

Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Junior outfielder Kylie Denaro of Concordia (Texas) led the Tornados, batting .556 (10-for-18) with seven runs, four RBIs and seven stolen bases. She walked five times and reached base multiple times in five out of the seven games the Tornados played this past week. She dominated game two against Carnegie Mellon on Monday, going 3-for-4 at the plate with two runs scored and two stolen bases, and Friday's first game against Ozarks, she was a perfect 2-for-2 at the plate with two runs scored and a game-high three stolen bases. Junior utility Serena Gonzalez of Texas Lutheran led the Bulldogs offensively in their sweep of Centenary batting .455 (5-for-11) with a home run and four RBIs. With her home run, she moved into a tie with Taylor Yancey for third all-time in TLU program history. Senior middle infielder Lindsey Gonzalez of St. Thomas had a standout week at the plate, hitting .455 (5-for-11) as the Celts took three games from Dallas in a conference sweep. Among her five hits, she had three doubles and a home run and also drove in five runs and scored twice. First-year outfielder Elizabeth Garcia of Schreiner went 4-for-5 (.800) with three runs scored as the Mountaineers swept a three-game series from Austin College. She also stole a pair of bases. Senior designated player Calle Collier of Southwestern, in Friday's doubleheader against Carnegie Mellon, went 3-for-5 (.600) with a double, a run scored and three RBIs. She also stole a pair of bases and the Pirates split a pair against the Tartans.
