ALLIE HOLBROOK OF TRINITY UNIVERSITY, a sophomore pitcher from San Juan Capistrano, Calif., has been named the SCAC Softball Pitcher of the Week for games played from Monday, February 4th through February 10th.
Holbrook pitched in all four of Trinity’s games last week as the Tigers went 3-1 against McMurry and Hardin-Simmons. Holbrook also got the decision in all four games, earning a relief victory against both teams. She went 3-1 with an ERA of 1.57 for the weekend, allowing just three earned runs in 13.1 innings and striking out nine batters.
In Saturday’s finale against Hardin-Simmons, Holbrook struck out four batters in a complete-game victory, allowing just one earned run on five hits over the six-inning outing. This season, Holbrook is now 3-2 with a 3.50 ERA to lead the Tigers, striking out 11 batters in 18 innings of work, and allowing just nine earned runs in six appearances.
Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Junior pitcher Lindsey Longuet of Southwestern tossed a complete game in a 9-1 victory over McMurry on Saturday. She scattered three hits, struck out one, and walked two. She allowed just one earned run and improved to 1-0 on the year.
