SAN ANTONIO, Texas -- The top two seeds will square off in the SCAC Softball Tournament Championship game for the first time since 2019 as No. 1 Texas Lutheran and No. 2 University of St. Thomas advanced to tomorrow’s championship game. The two teams took different paths to the title game as St. Thomas came out of the winner’s bracket, while TLU became the first squad since former SCAC member Rhodes to lose its first game in the tournament and fight back to the championship by winning three games in a single day to emerge from the loser’s bracket. The Lynx first accomplished the feat back in 2009 but came up short in the title game to former SCAC member DePauw.
Tomorrow’s championship bout will be the first meeting between the two teams in SCAC Tournament history. Earlier this year, St. Thomas handed Texas Lutheran its first home SCAC loss since 2014 before the Bulldogs ultimately took the final two games to win the series, 2-1.

Top-seeded Texas Lutheran University rode a six-run third inning to break open an elimination game on their way to a 12-0 shutout of sixth-seeded Schreiner University on Saturday morning at the 2023 SCAC Softball Championship. CENTENARY 3, SOUTHWESTERN 1
Fourth-seeded Centenary College defeated third-seeded Southwestern University, 3-1, in an elimination game on Saturday afternoon at the 2023 SCAC Softball Championship. Jaeden Thrasher was 2-for-3 with a home run, run scored, and a walk while Kaylea Patridge was 2-for-3 with an RBI in leading the Ladies. Recap

Four Celts recorded multi-hit games as second-seeded University of St. Thomas advanced to the program's first-ever SCAC Softball Championship game with an 8-3 victory over third-seeded Trinity University on Saturday evening on the campus of Trinity. Recap

Top-seeded Texas Lutheran won its second elimination game of the day as the Bulldogs ran away from fourth-seeded Centenary, 8-0 in six innings on Saturday night at the 2023 SCAC Softball Championship. Bailey Hudgeons and Madison Johnson each drove in two runs in the win for Texas Lutheran. Recap
