LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. - Following another full weekend of Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference softball action, Texas Lutheran (21-5, 15-1) has surged to the top of the standings having won 12-straight league games heading into the final four weekends of conference play as the calendar flips to April.

TLU swept Austin College (0-27, 0-16), outscoring the ‘Roos 46-1 in the twenty combined innings of action in the four-game set. The Bulldogs have now scored 10 or more runs in seven of their last 10 games after hitting that plateau just twice previously the rest of the season. As a team the Bulldogs stole 24 bases, the most this season in an SCAC series. TLU pounded out 51 hits over the weekend led by Casey Martin with nine. Martin finished the series with 10 RBI, six runs scored, six stolen bases and one homerun. Kayla Oliveira collected two more wins in the circle to improve to 8-2 on the season. In total the junior pitched eight innings, scattering four hits, striking out 11 and posting a 0.00 ERA.

Southwestern (22-4, 9-3) extended its winning streak to 11, the lonest since the Pirates won 12-straight during the 2017 season, following a four-game sweep of Centenary (11-15, 8-4) last weekend who entered the series unbeaten in league play. Coming off a season-high 21 hits in a win over Hardin-Simmons a week prior, the Pirates recorded 10 or more hits in three of the four contests against the Ladies. Kaitlynn Copher sparked the Southwestern offense, finishing the series with six hits, six runs scored and two RBI. The Pirates took advantage of being the visiting team, scoring in the top half of the first inning in three of the four games as well. Southwestern has now won 20 or more games three years in a row for the first time since accomplishing that feat during the 2011-13 seasons.

Trinity (13-12, 7-5) earned a 3-1 series victory against Dallas (6-24, 1-15) in the final SCAC battle over the weekend. The teams split the opening twin bill on Saturday and the Tigers picked up a sweep on day two to earn the series win. Brianna Pena led the way for offensively for TU, going 6-for-12 (.500) at the plate over the four games, collecting six RBI and scoring four runs. She saved her best game for the series finale, leading the Tigers to a series-clinching victory. In that series finale, Pena was 3-4 with a double and a home run, driving in three critical runs. In the circle, Trinity sophomore Allie Holbrook went 2-0 on the weekend, striking out five in 14 innings of work, allowing 17 hits and producing a 0.50 ERA. In the win for Dallas, its first SCAC victory of the season, Julie Duenas went 3-for-4 at the plate with a run scored and two RBI and pitcher Lindsay Devlin collected her first win of the season.

Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference softball continues this week with three important league series, as Centenary travels to Schreiner, Southwestern hosts Trinity and Austin College will take on Dallas in Irving, Texas.
