Texas Lutheran Tied for 13th in NFCA National Preseason Poll

SEGUIN, Texas – Texas Lutheran University softball is tied for 13th in the National Fastpitch Coaches Association Top 25 Preseason Poll for NCAA Division III.
 
The Bulldogs, coming off a 39-3 overall record and a fifth straight NCAA regional appearance, are 2-0 to start the 2019 season after a doubleheader sweep Saturday of NAIA opponent Huston-Tillotson.
 
Head Coach Wade Wilson and the Bulldogs are the preseason favorites in the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference.
 
The Bulldogs are in pursuit of their sixth consecutive SCAC Championship and sixth straight trip to the NCAA Division III postseason.
 
Wilson is in his eight season as head softball coach at TLU. He holds an overall record of 244-58 (.808) and a 108-2 (.982) mark in the SCAC.
 
Two-time defending national champion Virginia Wesleyan University is the preseason favorite in the NFCA poll.
 
The NFCA Division III Top 25 Poll is selected by eight NCAA Division III head coaches representing the eight NCAA regions. Final 2018 records are listed, with first-place votes in parentheses.
