LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. - League play continued for four softball teams in the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference as teams continued to move around the leaderboard.
Texas Lutheran University extended its winning streak to 24 games this season, securing another regular season title and the top seed in the 2018 SCAC Softball Championship. The Bulldogs hot offense was held back in the first three games of the series against Southwestern University, only scoring 14 runs, but they made up for it in the series finale, earning a 16-6 run-rule victory. Texas Lutheran is now 31-1 on the season and 16-0 in conference play. Southwestern moved to 17-14 after the weekend (6-10 in the SCAC).
Centenary College had an offensive explosion, scoring 42 runs in a conference series against the University of Dallas to lead almost every offensive category individually last week. The team moved to 17-17 on the season and 8-8 in conference play with the wins. Dallas is now 6-26 for the season and 1-15 in the SCAC.
Out of conference play, Trinity University picked up two wins over Our Lady of the Lake University on Wednesday.
