DePauw's Kosinski Earns Softball All-America Honors

GREENCASTLE, Ind. - DePauw freshman Jen Kosinski became the Tigers third softball player to earn all-America honors as she was selected to the Louisville Slugger/National Fastpitch Coaches Association All-America Third Team. Complete Release

A first team all-Central Region and Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference selection, Kosinski was the team's leading hitter in her first year of collegiate play at .405 and paced the squad with 12 doubles and 33 RBI.

She was fourth on the team with 13 multiple-hit games and tied for the team lead with nine multiple-RBI contests. Kosinksi also posted the squad's second longest hitting streak at nine straight games and was named to the NCAA Division III Championship First Round All-Tournament Team.

Megan Soultz was the program's first all-America selection after earning third team honors in 2007 and followed that up with first team distinction last year. Rachel Gill was a second team all-America choice last year.

The Tigers finished the 2009 season with a 32-9 record, their second straight SCAC title and a third straight appearance in the NCAA Division III first-round championship game. In unofficial final statistics, DePauw led the nation with a .979 fielding percentage.
