BRIAN WONGCHOTIGUL OF TRINITY UNIVERSITY, a sophomore from Austin, Texas, has been selected the SCAC Men's Cross Country Runner of the Week for meets run through Sunday, October 2nd.
Wongchotigul set a new personal record in the 8-kilometer race at the Chile Pepper Cross Country Festival in Arkansas this weekend.
Wongchotigul posted a time of 26:19.53 in the race, besting his performance on the same course last year by 52 seconds. He led the team for the first time in his career and also helped Trinity to a 21st place finish among the 46 non-Division I teams.
Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Thomas Hogan of the University of Dallas finished second overall in the ETBU Texas D-III Championship to lead UD to a fourth place team finish with a time of 27:18.01. Cameron Reagan of Texas Lutheran University narrowly missed the win at the Southwest Texas Junior College Invitational, posting a time of 17:29 in the 3.25 mile race, while helping the Bulldogs to a perfect team score.
