LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. - League teams ran in their final prep races prior to the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference championship meet as six of eight squads were in action.

Colorado College and Trinity both faced off against national competition at the Wisconsin-Oshkosh Kollege Town Sports Pre-National Invitational and the Rowan Inter-Regional Border Battle, respectively.

Colorado College, which finished 42nd out of 50 competing teams, was led by junior Jack Williams, who covered the 8K course in a time of 27:25. Freshman Josh Fry finished second on the squad in 27:34.

Trinity placed 26th of 42 teams at the Inter-Regional Border Battle. Elliot Blake paced the Tiger men, crossing the finish line in 17th place among a field of more than 400 competitors in the 8K. Blake set a personal-best mark with a time of 25:25.

The University of Dallas Invitational was cancelled due to inclement weather, pushing the Dallas and Austin College men to the sidelines and for Schreiner and Southwestern to scramble for other competition. Schriener participated in the McMurry (Tex.) Bill Libby Invitational and placed seventh of nine teams. Refugio Montelongo paced the Mountaineers with a 25th-place finish in a time of 35:00.8. Southwestern hosted a dual meet against Mary Hardin-Baylor and took home the team victory in the 5K race. Josh Im led the way for the Pirates with a 17.15 finish.

Johnson & Wales finished ninth of 12 teams at the Fort Hays State Tiger Open, running in the Black Division of the 8K race. Alberto Rodriguez finished 18th overall with a time of 26:42.4.

Texas Lutheran sent three runners to the University of California Riverside Highlander Invitational. In a race filled primarily with NCAA Division I teams, Caleb Calderson paced the Bulldogs with a 109th place in an 8K time of 26:31.8.

After an off week, next up for all eight men's cross country programs will be the 2018 SCAC Cross Country Championships, which is being hosted by Schreiner University and will take place on Saturday, October 27.
