Trinity's Blake Highlights NCAA Cross Country Regional Performances

Elliot Blake of Trinity University finished ninth among 239 runners at the NCAA Men's Cross Country South/Southeast Regional Saturday morning.


MOUNT BERRY, Ga. - The Trinity University men came in seventh and Southwestern University was 15th at the NCAA Division III South/Southeast Cross Country Regional on Saturday at Berry College. Results

In a pack of 239 runners, senior Elliot Blake earned All-Region honors and an invite to next weekend's national championship meet with a ninth-place performance, turning in a time of 26:00.11 over the 8K course. The 2018 NCAA Division III Cross Country Championship which will be held November 17 in Oshkosh, Wisconsin and hosted by the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh.

Sophomore Harry Bellow earned All-Region honors for the second consecutive year, placing 22nd in a time of 26:30.04.

Southwestern junior John Hattan paced the Pirates with a 43rd place in a time of 27:09.79. The 15th place regional finish was the highest for Southwestern in 10 years.

Texas Lutheran sent junior Caleb Calderon who placed 71st in a time of 27:44.76.


WALLA WALLA, Wash. - The Colorado College men's cross country team concluded its 2018 season Saturday with a sixth-place finish at the NCAA Division III West Regional Championships in Walla Walla, Wash. Results

The result equals the best for the Tigers at the regional meet in the last five years.

Sophomore Paul Olsen led the Tigers with a 35th-place finish, capturing the final All-Region slot, by covering the 8K course in a personal-best time of 26 minutes, 2.8 seconds. Junior Tony Calderon just missed an all-region selection by placing 36th in 26:04.1.
