CHASE COOK OF TEXAS LUTHERAN UNIVERSITY, a freshman from Austin, Texas, has been selected the SCAC Men’s Field Athlete of the Week for meets held Monday, April 12 through Sunday, April 18.
Cook had two personal bests out of three events in the Cactus Cup at Texas A&M-Kingsville meet. Wet conditions didn't stop Cook from finishing fifth and throwing 43.28 meters (142-0) in the discus, and 40.56 meters (133-1) for 14th in the hammer. He also finished 12th in the shot (11.69 meters/38-4 1/4). The meet largely consisted of Division II competition.
Other Outstanding Performances in the SCAC:
Sophomore Cooper Tyler of Trinity threw the javelin for the first time this season and placed third at the Texas A&M-Kingsville Cactus Cup with a throw of 45.50 meters.
