SCOTTIE REYES OF TEXAS LUTHERAN UNIVERSITY, a freshman from Dilley, Texas has been selected the SCAC Men’s Field Athlete of the Week for meets held Monday, April 5 through Sunday, April 11.
Reyes continues to improve in the throws with a new school record and personal best in the discus event at the UIW Invitational. His toss of 48.83m (160-2) earned him an eighth place spot on the NCAA DIII leaderboard and was second overall in a mainly Division I and II meet. He also was sixth in the shot (15.39m/50-6) and the 10th collegiate finisher in the hammer (46.26m/151-9).
Other Outstanding Performances in the SCAC:
Junior Tanner Lacy of Trinity tied the school record in the pole vault at the UIW Invitational with a mark of 4.75m, placing him third at the meet. Tanner has the top mark in the conference and is tied for ninth in Division III.
