Trinity's Walker Earns SCAC Men's Track & Field Elite 19 Award

SAN ANTONIO, Texas - In a announcement made at Saturday's conference championship meet, Trinity University's Blair Walker was named the 2019 SCAC Men's Track & Field Elite 19 award winner.

Walker, a senior from McKinney, Texas, is a computer science major with minors in math and physics and has accrued a GPA of 3.869. He earned all-conference honors three times at this year's SCAC Track & Field Championships on Trinity's campus.

The SCAC Elite 19 is awarded to a student-athlete who has completed at least 60 credit hours with a minimum 3.25 GPA and has earned all-conference honors for the season the award is being presented. The student-athletes are awarded annually from each of the league's 19 conference-sponsored sports.

Walker won the 400-meters event with a personal-best time of 47.95 seconds, which shattered a 16-year-old Trinity record. He also earned All-SCAC honors on the winning 4x400-meter relay team, which set a SCAC meet record of 3:17.35. Walker finished second in the 200 meters with a personal-best time of 21.81.
