Trinity's Taylor Piske Named to CoSIDA Academic All-District Team

LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. – The College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) released the 2016 Men’s and Women’s Track & Field and Cross Country Teams Thursday and Taylor Piske of Trinity University was a First Team selection. Full Release

Voting is conducted by the College Sports Information Directors of America. Piske is now eligible for consideration for the national Academic All-America Team, to be announced in June.

Piske, a senior from Richardson, Texas, boasts a 3.79 grade point average, while majoring in engineering science. This is his second consecutive year to earn the All-District honor. He has also been a member of the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Academic Honor Roll each year of his career.

Outside of the classroom, Piske has found great success. In the fall, he was named the SCAC Runner of the Year after winning the 8,000-meter event. He posted a time of 27:37.80 on the muddy course, finishing 15 seconds ahead of the next runner. He also led a Trinity squad that posted the first perfect score in Tiger men’s history.

In the spring, Piske won both the 5,000-meter and the 10,000-meter events at the 2016 SCAC Track & Field Championships hosted by Texas Lutheran University.
