Southwestern's Williams, Devine Named SCAC Track and Field Athlete of the Week

LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. - Junior runner Paden Williams and freshman field athlete Will Devine of Southwestern University has been named SCAC Track and Field Athletes of the Week after impressive performances this past weekend.

 

 

 

 

 

 

SCAC TRACK ATHLETE-OF-THE-WEEK

PADEN WILLIAMS OF SOUTHWESTERN UNIVERSITY, a junior from Austin, Texas, has been selected the SCAC Track Athlete-of-the-Week for meets through Sunday, March 9th.

Williams opened the Pirates outdoor season with a strong showing at the Tarleton Relays last weekend.

Williams ran a tim eof 1:59.21 in his first run of the season in the 800, placing him first in the SCAC Performance List early in the season. Williams also played a key role in the Pirates 4x400 team.

WILL DEVINE OF SOUTHWESTERN UNIVERSITY, a freshman from Colleyville, Texas, has been selected the SCAC Field Athlete-of-the-Week for meets through Sunday, March 9th.

Devine opened the Pirates outdoor season with a strong showing at the Tarleton Relays last weekend while setting a new Pirate record in the process.

In his first meet of his career, Devine came out and threw a school record 12.13 in the shotput, crushing the record by nearly a meter, to finish 10th in a loaded field that included scholarship athletes.

Devine's excellence this past weekend has ranked his first overall in the shotput in the SCAC Performance List.
