ANDRES PADILLA OF AUSTIN COLLEGE, a freshman from League City, Texas, has been named the SCAC Men's Tennis Player of the Week for matches played through Sunday, February 11th.
Padilla went 3-0 this weekend in the 'Roos three matches.
To start the weekend off, Padilla earned a 6-1, 6-0 result at Line 3 against Howard-Payne which clinched the victory for the team.
Then on Saturday, Padilla took fought off a tough line 5 Hardin Simmons opponent in two close sets 7-5, 7-5.
To round the weekend out, Padilla took the win at No. 4 singles against McMurry.
Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Senior Grant Gideon of Southwestern University dropped just one set at #2 singles, defeating Sul Ross 6-0, 6-1. Sophomore Carlos Subealdea of Texas Lutheran University helped TLU improve to 5-1 overall after winning against University of the Ozarks on Sunday. Subealdea posted a 7-6(6), 6-4 victory against Jonah Martinez.
