Settles and Nguyen Eliminated in ITA Cup Doubles Semifinals

ROME, Ga. -- The Tiger doubles team of senior Christian Settles and junior Hao Nguyen were eliminated in the semifinals of the Intercollegiate Tennis Association Cup on Friday.

Trinity's top-line doubles team began its day with a 6-4, 6-4 win over Abhi Ramireddy and Daniel Li of Washington (Mo.) University to advance as one of the final four teams remaining in the tournament. In Thursday's opener, the Tigers handed the Case Western Reserve (Ohio) University team of James Hopper and Jonathan Powell 7-5, 6-1 to advance into the quarterfinals.

Settles and Nguyen faced off against the Williams (Mass.) College team of Peter Frelinghuysen and Matt Kandel, but the Tiger duo fell short in a 6-3, 7-5 defeat.

Senior Cameron Krimbill won his match in the consolations of the singles tournament, following his Thursday morning loss in the opening round of play against Jordan Theron of Methodist (N.C.) University. Theron advanced to the semifinals before being eliminated.
